2023 was an excellent year for Lyncombe and our amazing membership of nationwide Financial Advisers. 

But for those of you who might be unfamiliar with Lyncombe, here's a little bit about us, what makes us tick and why 2023 was a year to remember.

What We're About

Lyncombe is our industry leading, pre-built advice proposition, supporting nationwide ASHL Group advisers at every life stage of their career. Acquired in 2020 with a growing membership of high-quality firms and advisers, we maintain an approach of only recruiting those that deliver excellent client outcomes.

Lyncombe offers the same robust compliance shield and business support services as you would expect from an ASHL Group network, but the centralised research for the advice proposition is conducted by our third-party industry experts. The uniqueness of the proposition is down to the flexibility of our core investment solution Rockhold Asset Management.

Rockhold’s approach involves appointing external investment managers to run specific investment mandates, where we monitor and oversee the performance of those solutions to ensure they meet their objectives in terms of risk and return. We also retain the right to select a different manager, should circumstances require and can ensure that clients will not be disrupted.

Rockhold offers the freedom for our advisers to go off-panel when relevant to a specific client's needs. The ASHL Group believes in being the #PartnerOfChoice, because we believe there should never be a 'correct' route to market, there should only be excellent client outcomes.

  • Routes into the industry through our Academy (over 60 candidates enrolled)
  • Marketing and growth strategies (SEO, recruitment, digital ads, testimonials, website development)
  • Increased and enhanced educational communications and whitelabelled content (Podcasts, blogs, client guides, newsletters, videos)
  • Intergenerational client succession planning awareness campaigns
  • Internal practice buyout opportunities, through the network itself, or via the right buyer from within the membership
  • Where a buyout isn't suitable, working with firms to develop talent, or recruit externally as part of our business development model with regards to succession planning

Our 2023 Milestones

  • Competitive PII block policy cover costs have been achieved by leveraging the group's size and risk management of advice given to clients.
  • Consumer duty legislation requirements embedded across the network, with particular focus on client outcomes.
  • Financial viability of the ASHL Group strengthened by hitting the milestone of >£1.2bn (now £1.37bn) of AUM managed in-house and the acquisition of 5 (now 6) businesses into our national advice model Lync Wealth Management.
  • >100 hours of CPD accredited
